CDPHS ANTIQUE ROADSHOW, wants to share with you that which has been shared with us.

Stowed away in the confines of very secure storage areas are a great many pieces of memorabilia that meant a considerable amount to someone, and loved his or her home town enough to share rather than retain.

Because we have not been fortunate enough to find the perfect home for our intended Museum, it is our desire to display our treasures so millions will have the opportunity to enjoy them today, tomorrow and the many decades into the future.

Even though these treasured donors have been thanked many times over we would dearly love to say once more "Thank you one and all!"

The Clayton/Deerpark Historical Society.

We begin, not only as one of the most treasured donations is being presented, The original painting "#52" by Leno Prestini, painted for his life long friend Silvio Costa who combined with the entire Costa family befriended his loved ones especially while Leno served in WW II. But this dedication is not for, but because of Bruno Costa, cousin to Silvio and his brother Duane. Bruno and Duane presented the CDPHS with this painting on July 17, 2007. It is sad to say that Bruno's act of generosity combined with his unending dedication to helping those in need, ceased with his funeral service on Sept. 18th 2008. May God rest his soul.

Another of our vaunted collection was given to our Society by Mr. Paul Ericksen. An Arcadia Orchard smudge pot and other items to be identified and given a proper code #.

Though this Leno Prestini print, "Christ on the Cross", is hanging on our living room wall, it none the less belongs to the CDPHS. The original was painted and presented to the Clayton Catholic Church in 1956. The painting is now in the Deer Park Catholic Church.

Our Society proudly displays this robe of the Blue and Gold. The highly revered colors of Deer Parks fighting Stags.

Mr. Tom Olsen presented this Certificate of shares from the Woodland Cemetery Assoc. of Deer Park, WA.

When these ribbons and gold gloves were presented to Wallace Parker, as a representative of the CDPHS, he understood the desire of someone to just want to give back a little bit of what's been given to the donor.

Joleen Bloom and her sister Kathy Millick presented us with a host of Deer Park Fair memorabilia from the days when their parents were very active in fair activities.

A Fair promotional token. from the 60s & 70s.

A good old broad ax once owned by Ole T. Westby. It's larger than today's axes at 12 1/2 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide. Donated by Dale and Ron Messerschmidt. Thank you!

Thanks to the Bloom family.

At the risk of offending someone, please "bare" with us for a moment. Clayton is the hometown of artist Leno Prestini. Acquiring an original of one of his paintings is next to impossible, but that is exactly what the CDPHS did. The Society got word that there was an original Prestini painting for sale in Eugene, Oregon. Wally Lee Parker, Publications Director for the CDPHS, made an offer and at first it wasn't accepted. Surprisingly a few weeks later word came that our offer had been accepted. After a trip for inspection, and delivery of payment, the above painting was purchased and it will grace the walls of CDPHS. So please accept our apologies if we seem to be a bit risque.

Mr. Marion Castle presented this Gold Pan original Leno painting accepted by Mr. Don Ball for the CDPHS.

This sign hung in the R.R. Grove store for decades on Main Street in Deer Park. Our thanks to Pete Reynolds for this antique metal sign.

We are in possesion of an authorized print of "Hell At Dawn" as painted by Leno on site December 2, 1958. The original is in the possesion of a private family in the vacinity. The subject of the painting was the move of the old Clayton Grange Hall to the Nord farm which saw many equipment breakdowns.

The bottle capper on the left is from the family of Johnny and Katy Erickson. It dates from the 1930's. The bottle capper on the right was purchased by Iva Sebright from Weber's Hardware in 1951. The Sebright family made many, many batches of root beer over the years. Bill Sebright made many more batches of rootbeer in Science classes over his 35 year teaching career in Redwood City, CA, Clayton and Deer Park, WA.

Prominently displayed on the living room wall of the Webmasters home hangs this Original Painting by his fellow Classmate of Deer Park High School Mrs. Catherine Baker Truman. Catherine painted it in 1980 and is a Barn built by Scandinavians in the late 1800s and still stands on the farm where her parents raised her as a child. We are proud She and her Husband Cliff presented this treasure to our Society so we may share it with the future family's in our community. Thank you Catherine and Cliff Truman.

The seal from the Sanborn Insurance Book shows the the population of Deer Park in 1915 was 1009.

A book of early Deer Park maps, including one of the DP Lumber Co. Our thanks to the Johnny and Katie Erickson family.

The title of a large 4 by 5 foot map of Deer Park. This early map shows streets and lots of Deer Park prior to 1920. This is also from the Johnny and Katie Erickson family.

A close up of the map book shown above.

This old table knife comes from the Johnny and Katie Erickson family. Paul wonders like the rest of us, "How is this connected to the Dahl family of Deer Park?"

This 100 per cent cotton sack is from the early 1950's. It held 25 pounds of sugar. Our thanks to Anni Sebright.

The Prestini Memorial Museum was built in the early 1970's by Battista Prestinin to honor his brother, Leno, a famous local artist. This picture comes from the builing plans for the building. The plans were presented to the CDPHS by the Loon Lake Historical Society. Karen Renner Meyer's Dad Ben Renner did much of the work on the building.

This unidentified object was donated by Mr. Pat Hare. Thank you, Pat! He retrieved it from the dismantled WBL remains in the late 1970s. We are hoping that Eddy Olson will be able to tell us what it is. It's possible the molders used these in Terra Cotta Plant, but it seems they would have been more intricate had Terra Cotta used them.

Deer Park High School Diplomas (from Joan and her sister Mary) donated to the Society by Joan Easley.

Another uneducated guess was that this was used in smaller areas to compress the pre-molded clay prior to firing.

The Loon Lake Historical Society has the old brick school house as their museum. It is unlikely that our museum will surpass it. There is one design that may equal it. A replica of Leno Prestini's Studio.

This cream separator was on the farm when Messerschmidts move there in the early 1970s. Messerschmidts bought the farm from Chapmans, who bought it from the Warren Stevens family. You can see the hand crank, but also had a pulley if you had an electric or gas motor to power it.

These old skis were donated by Ron and Dale Messerschmidt. The skis once belonged to Lewis Shorty Daugherty.
