Innocent Sisters Linda Abbott Beekman and Penny Abbott Bossom are solely responsible for the contents of this webpage for which CDPHS is very grateful. They write & I quote, "Our Mom was Eugenia Irene Abbott, born August 6, 1906, in Gardenspot. Her parents were Andrew Patrick Abbott  & Mary Elizabeth Edgington. Grandparents were Ransom & Mary Ann Kelly Abbott & Frank & Eugenia Chapin Edgington. Irene met our father Oliver Peter Beekman on July 4, 1927, at a dance at a floating pavilion on Loon Lake, WA. They married in Clayton October 15, 1927. The Beekman place was 1 mile south of Clayton and 1 mile west of Deer Park.  Our cousin was LaVerna Sharp who was Miss Deer Park in the late 20s." And now their story in pictures & captions.

This is the Grand Parents of Linda Beekman & Penny Bossom, Frank and Eugenia L. Edgington with daughters Mary Elizabeth, born May 18, 1887 and baby Lois born June 30, 1892. Both were born in Green, Iowa.

The caption written many years ago by Mr. Lawrence Zimmerer reads as follows, "Standard Lbr. Co. Mill. Deer Park, Washington. Grandpa Edgington (6th man from the left with black round hat) Frank Edgington (on far right with hand on hip).

Eugenia Irene Abbott stands with her Chums at her 18th Birthday pary at the Abbott home. Once thought to be the Gardenspot Log School house or maybe even the first Loon Lake log school house. Verified by Penny Bossom. Just a home out in the wilderness. Penny has spoken and her younger Sister Linda backs her. That isn't all. Read the heading under the almost identical pictre three pictures below.

Penny Beekman states as similar as these two photos are, she does not recognize one soul in this photo as her mother. End of case.

Mary Abbott

Apparently known region wide as Grandpa Edgington. Even Lawrence Zimmerer called him that.

The Edgington - Abbott family gathering. Identification is sketchy but its thought that the 7th lady from the left is the girls Mother Eugenia (also called Irene to avoid confusion with her Great Grandmother)

This is a picture taken through an opening from the Violet Zimmerer farm about a quarter mile south. Violet said. That is known as the old Abbott place. Located on Spotted Road. Light is being shed on the Abbott Edgington clan. Further light has shown this Abbottt family is in no way related to the Abbott family of disscution. But this photo remains here simply because I like the photo.

This is Eugenia Irene Abbott, mother of Linda Beekman and Penny Bossom who writes as follows. Our Mother who as born to Andrew Patrick Abbott and Elizabeth Edgington. Her grandparents were Ransom & Mary and Kelly Abbott and Frank and Eugenia Chapin Edgington. Mother use to ride her horse or walked to school and one some girls pushed her off a bridge into a river. She broke her arm and caught pneumonia. Mother was born August 26, 1906 her birth name was Eugenia Irene Abbott. She was an only child and married in Clayton October 15, 1927 two my f ather Oliver pete Beekman with James Lowe and Oddesa Shaw as witnesses. They met at the floating dance Hall at loon Lake on the fourth of July 1927. My grandparents Frank and Eugenia and Edgington came to Clayton/Deer Park in 1901. I still trying to find when my grandfather Ransom came to the area.

This is a very early 1900s Threshing rig. No spout but a belt that carries the straw to the straw stack. Though Threshing was a time of very hard work, it was an exciting time for a farmer. They spent the entire year in antisipation of this day. Thanksgiving is a Harvest feast. A time to count their blessings and forget the tough times.

Some where along the way the Cook shack dropped from sight and cooking for the Threshing crew fell on the shoulders of the ladies of each family. If you notice in most threshing photo the ladie of the house was always included. Thats because the Straw Boss & his crew knew who worked harder than any of them.
