Baseball the Wind way.

1931 Clayton High School Baseball team. Fred Wind is standing third from the left. Clayton as in all small communities drew huge crowds for each and every baseball game. A very very few players went on to greater heights. From the Clayton Deer Park area, three come to mind. Elton (Swede Huchins, Dude Baldwin and Fred Wind. Fred and his family moved from Clayton in the very early 1930s. This is Fred Wind's story as told by his daughter Susan Wind Simpson.

Fred Wind Jr. continued to play amateur baseball throughout the 1930s in California. Here he is with a group of players from various amateur teams. Fred is standing 3rd from left.

A two on a page picture of another of Fred Wind Jr's amateur teams, the P.K. Specials. P.K. were the initials of the heir to the Wrigley fortune and the team was probably named for him. Fred is standing at the right end.
